WorldCoin: The number of daily wallet users has exceeded one million
The WorldCoin project announced a tenfold increase in the number of users of its World App wallet – in just two to three months, from November to February.
In late autumn, the application registered 100,000 active users per day, now we are talking about a million.
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI and co-founder of WorldCoin, is proud that the market value of the Worldcoin token (WLD) has increased by more than 140% over the past week.
The declared goal of the Worldcoin project is "to provide a universal basic income for all citizens of the world" through the distribution of WLD tokens in exchange for registration of biometric data (retinal scan).
The activities of the Worldcoin team have caused serious opposition and bans from governments and law enforcement agencies of many states. First of all, because of fears for the future of the collected personal data of citizens.
In January, the Office of the Hong Kong Data Privacy Commissioner (PCPD) announced searches at six Worldcoin offices. The police checked the company for violations of local legislation.
