Worldcoin has published a new note on its website. In it, the company claims that its activities are completely legal.
The activities of the Worldcoin project are completely legal and comply with current legislation in the countries where it is represented. This is stated in a new note by the organization.
"Worldcoin is designed to fully comply with all laws and regulations governing data collection and transfer," the firm said in a release.
In the publication, the company referred to two industry bills — the General Data Protection Regulation of Europe (GDPR) and the Argentine law "On the Protection of Personal Data" (Ley de Protección de los Datos Personales).
In addition, the company stated that it is working on full transparency of the project and does not distribute the received biometric data. The scanned iris of the eye is used only for user verification, the organization stressed.
At the same time, the project is available exclusively for adults. The user must confirm the relevant item when registering in the World App.
The company made its statement against the background of the decision of the Spanish regulator to ban the company's activities in the country. Worldcoin tried to appeal against it, but was refused.
