Visa has introduced a direct exchange of cryptocurrencies for fiat withdrawal to cards in 145 countries

Global payment giant Visa is accelerating the adoption of cryptocurrency by providing another method of exchanging cryptocurrency for fiat without using a centralized exchange.

Visa has entered into a partnership agreement with the infrastructure company Web-Transak, which will allow funds to be withdrawn in cryptocurrency through the Visa Direct solution.

The new integration allows users to withdraw cryptocurrencies such as bitcoins directly from a wallet, for example, MetaMask, to a Visa debit card with their conversion to fiat. After that, users make payments in 1Z0 million outlets where Visa is accepted.

By offering real—time card withdrawals through Visa Direct, Transak provides a faster, simpler and more integrated experience for its users, making it easier to convert cryptocurrency balances into fiat money," said Yanilsa Gonzalez-Ope, head of Visa Direct North America.

The partnership allows users from 145 countries to directly convert at least 40 cryptocurrencies into fiat money without resorting to the services of a centralized exchange. The Transak website indicates that the supported countries include Cyprus, Malta, Singapore, Turkey, Portugal and the United Arab Emirates.
