Uniswap has set the launch date for Uniswap v4
The launch of the fourth version of the Uniswap non-custodial exchange will take place in the third quarter of 2024.
"We believe that v4 should be the most thoroughly verifiable code ever deployed on Ethereum," said representatives of the Uniswap Foundation.
According to the roadmap, three main milestones are expected on the way to the launch of a new version of the popular DEX:
- stage 1 (current): revision of the main code, testing, gas optimization, security improvements;
- stage 2: audit by several companies, test network, final revision of the code;
- Stage 3: launch of the main network (in the third quarter).
In June, the developers published the preliminary Uniswap v4 code.
One of the main features of the v4 version of the decentralized exchange will be the use of "hooks". These are plug-ins that allow you to implement completely new functions for liquidity pools, such as dynamically adjusting commissions or creating various types of orders.
The release also introduces the "flash accounting" system, which is designed to reduce commission costs for liquidity providers. The mechanism is based on an on-chain data storage solution that activates EIP-1153 as a result of the upcoming Dencun hard fork in March.
