The volume of liquidations in the crypto market exceeded $680 million per day

On the night of March 15, 2024, bitcoin fell below the $67,000 mark, but subsequently the rate of the first cryptocurrency rose above $68,000. During the day, the asset price decreased by almost 7%. Against this background, the volume of liquidations on futures in the cryptocurrency market amounted to more than $ 680 million in 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours, the positions of 193,561 traders have been liquidated. Approximately $545 million of losses were in long positions, and almost $138 million in short positions.

The largest amounts of liquidations have traditionally been on the Binance and OKX cryptocurrency exchanges — $251.80 million and $253.27 million, respectively.
