According to a report by the US Department of Justice, the US government confiscated bitcoins from Heather Morgan and Ilya Lichtenstein, who laundered digital assets stolen from the trading platform in 2016. According to Arkham, the government transferred the seized coins to three cryptocurrency wallets and completed the following transactions on Wednesday:

  1. 2,818 BTC worth $172.8 million was withdrawn from one crypto vault;
  2. 12,267 BTC worth $748.5 million was transferred from the second wallet.

In total, $921.3 million worth of bitcoins were sent from these wallets, and not a single coin is stored on their balance anymore. The third wallet contains 94643 bitcoins, whose value is estimated at $5.9 billion.
