The Kyrgyz crypto exchange Four Dragons reported a large-scale hack
Four Dragons exchange with offices in Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Kazakhstan reported a major hack that occurred on February 22. The amount of losses is not reported, but, according to some reports, may exceed $ 100 million.
According to the Telegram channel of the Cheka-OGPU, if over $100 million was really stolen, then this makes the incident the largest in the history of Kyrgyzstan. Now the country's cyber police is investigating the theft, while the case is under control of the top management. The fact is that in Kyrgyzstan, cryptocurrency activity is officially allowed and licensed, and such a large-scale hacking can undermine confidence in the sites in the country.
"This hack will not affect our obligations to customers and partners. Operating activities continue as normal, despite the loss of some of the liquidity. At the moment, we have managed to track down some of the withdrawn funds and mark them as stolen," the site said in a statement.
The Four Dragons management provided a list of addresses to which part of the stolen money was withdrawn, and promised 10% of the refunded amount to anyone who would help in the return of the stolen funds.
