The oldest Italian bank, Banca Sella, founded in 1886 and serving more than 1.4 million people, has provided customers with the opportunity to trade Bitcoin through the Hype Plus mobile platform.
Bank clients will be able to buy, sell and send bitcoins directly through the platform application. However, the new service is currently in beta testing and is only available to select premium Hype members. In the coming days, the bank plans to open access to bitcoins to all its clients.
Banca Sella management clarified that users will be able to conduct cryptocurrency transactions only through the Hype banking platform, without third-party services. And also pay with BTC at all retail outlets where cryptocurrencies are accepted. Banca Sella has introduced a number of restrictions. For Hype Start Basic Account users, annual Bitcoin trading volume must not exceed $2,700.
As for Plus and Premium account holders, the limit has been expanded to $54,000 per year. Banca Sella management believes that the restrictions will help manage risks more effectively and provide flexible conditions for active crypto traders. In 2020, Banca Sella already launched Bitcoin trading amid the coronavirus pandemic and people’s increased interest in digital assets.
