The Blast team has launched the main network

On February 29, 2024, the developers of the Ethereum-based L2 network — Blast — announced the launch of the main network. Now users will be able to withdraw their funds.

The report says that at the early access stage, more than 180,000 users placed more than $2.3 billion in the protocol. However, after the release of the mainnet, the total blocked asset value (TVL) in Blast fell to less than $870 million.

"Blast raised over $2 billion in TVL even before the launch of its mainnet, which puts it right after giants such as Arbitrum One and OP Mainnet. It's safe to say that we should expect a certain level of mania and speculation with the official launch, not to mention a possible airdrop," said Arnold Toch, a blockchain research analyst, in a comment to The Block.

The project team also reported that "users will receive 50% of the Blast airdrop, and another 50% will be provided to decentralized applications."
