Ripple hacked for $112 million
Unknown people hacked the popular fintech project Ripple. Against the background of the news, the native token of the ecosystem — XRP — sank by 5%
Online detective ZachXBT wrote in X (ex. Twitter) that Ripple has been subjected to a massive hack. As a result of the attack, the attackers stole approximately 213 million in XRP tokens ($112 million).
According to preliminary data, cybercriminals laundered stolen funds through platforms such as MAGIC, Gate, Binance, Kraken, OKX, HTX and HitBTC.
The XRP token reacted to the news of the hack by falling 5.1% — from $0.52 to $0.59, according to CoinGecko.
