OKX announced its withdrawal from Uzbekistan
Starting March 30, the OKX cryptocurrency exchange will stop providing services to users in Uzbekistan.
In order to avoid account freezing, clients need to close all open positions before 00:00 UTC (05:00 UZT) on March 15, as well as withdraw assets before 00:00 UTC on March 30. For its part, the exchange guaranteed the safety of funds until the moment of withdrawal.
Recall that in January, the Uzbek authorities fined the Binance exchange for providing services without registering a legal entity in the country. After the platform refused to voluntarily pay 102 million soums (~$8,300), the regulator appealed to the court.
Earlier, ForkLog reported that Uzbekistan has updated the licensing procedure for bitcoin exchanges.
In addition, criminal and administrative penalties for illegal activities related to the mining and use of cryptocurrencies will come into force in April.
