Merrill Lynch and Wells Fargo Offer Spot Bitcoin ETFs to Customers
Customers of two of the oldest American banks have the opportunity to trade spot ETFs for bitcoin
Merrill Lynch and Wells Fargo, two of the largest American banks, are planning to add a spot bitcoin ETF amid growing interest in this product. This is reported by Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources.
Previously, UBS Group offered bitcoin ETFs to some of its clients using money management services. Morgan Stanley is also thinking about adding this tool to its platform. Meanwhile, Charles Schwab and Robinhood Markets offered access to spot ETFs on BTC almost immediately after their appearance.
Despite the fact that the US regulator has approved the launch of spot ETFs for bitcoin, financial institutions themselves decide whether they should add these tools to their product lines. The traditional financial sector is still wary of highly volatile cryptocurrency assets.
