Media: Do Kwon will miss the start of the trial in the United States
Do Kwon is likely to miss the start of the trial on March 25, according to Reuters. This may happen due to the delay in the extradition of the accused to the United States.
The former CEO of Terraform Labs, Do Kwon, is likely to miss the start of the trial on charges of fraud by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This is reported by Reuters with reference to Kwon's lawyers.
According to journalists, the accused may not be able to arrive in court on March 25 due to a delay in his extradition from Montenegro.
Kwon's lawyer, David Patton, said in a letter filed in Manhattan federal court that his client would not seek to postpone the trial date, regardless of when he would eventually be extradited.
Goran Rodic— a lawyer for Kwon in Montenegro, said that the case in the country took much longer than expected due to "numerous unpredictable mistakes that the lower court made." He added that he does not expect extradition before the end of March.
Earlier, the media reported that the Supreme Court of Montenegro decided to extradite the former CEO of Terraform Labs to the United States of America, but rejected a similar request from South Korea.
