Kenyan Blockchain Association Asks Nigerian Government to Release Binance Top Managers
The Kenya Blockchain Association (BAK) has appealed to the Nigerian government to release Binance's top managers, who have been under arrest for more than three weeks.
According to local media, the BAK administration met with representatives of the Nigerian High Commission and submitted a petition for the release of senior Binance managers.
"The Kenyan Blockchain Association is deeply concerned about the arrest in Nigeria of prominent Binance representatives and members of our association's community. Recently, African countries have made outstanding progress in the development of Web3 technologies. This is especially noticeable in the field of developing rules and implementing a crypto regulation policy. The Blockchain Association expresses great concern that the negative consequences associated with the actions of the government of Nigeria may negatively affect the development of the cryptocurrency sector of the entire African continent," BAK said in a statement.
The Association drew the attention of Nigerian government officials to the fact that no formal charges have been brought against the detained employees over the past three weeks, and called for their early release and safe return to their countries.
