In the Moscow region, miners for mining cryptocurrencies were stolen from the police

According to the material of the criminal case, two years ago, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Hapo-Fominsk city district of the Moscow region found several cabins in one of the warehouse complexes, where there was a farm for mining cryptocurrency.

The police seized sixty-eight miners and other equipment, the owner of the equipment was suspected of stealing electrical energy. However, inaccuracies were made in the initiation of the criminal case resolution.

Mosoblenergo was listed as the injured organization, while the contract for the supply of electricity was issued with Mosenergosbyt. In addition, the miners were not recognized as physical evidence, since the equipment was not rewritten and sealed during the seizure.

The owner of the equipment refused to admit his guilt, and demanded the return of the property. In turn, Vyacheslav Orlikov, the head of the criminal investigation department for the Hapo-Fominsk city district, agreed with a local businessman, and he allowed the equipment to be stored in his hangar of the Start shopping center. The police expected an examination of the equipment, but a few days later the hangar was hacked by unknown people and all the miners were stolen.

The owner of the equipment wrote a statement to the local prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee, where they opened a case of negligence (Part 1 of Article 29Z of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). A criminal investigation is currently underway into the negligence of police officers in the city of Hapo-Fominsk, Moscow region.

The question of whether police officers will be punished in accordance with the law remains open.
