According to the case file, the plaintiff transferred $10,500 to an unnamed person between 2013 and 2015 to buy bitcoins. In August 2015, the investor reported the theft of 300 BTC to the police.

In September 2023, the Poltava District Court acquitted the accused due to the absence of corpus delicti in his actions.

A month later, the injured party filed a second lawsuit, in which it stated the inaction of the prosecutor's office and demanded compensation for damage in the amount of € 7.6 million (about UAH 299 million).

In December 2023, the Kiev District Court of Poltava dismissed the claim.

Now the defrauded investor has filed an appeal against this decision.
