Immutable is exploring new ways to drive gaming action on its newly-launched Ethereum scaling layer, Immutable zkEVM. The platform has announced a rewards program dubbed “The Main Quest” meant to appreciate web3 gamers on its network. Although the program launched with $50 million in its treasury, the platform said that it intends to keep adding to the treasury, a move that’s likely to bring more games and gamers on the scaling layer.
Largest Rewards Program for Web3 Gamers
Apart from gamers, Immutable will also reward users for interacting with DEXs and other projects built on the Immutable zkEVM network. According to Immutable president Robbie Ferguson, The Main Quest is the largest rewards program dedicated to blockchain gamers.
Ferguson noted that the program will be a way to show gamers what real ownership of virtual items really means.
Some of the games covered by the rewards program include Blast Royale, Guild of Guardians and Illuvium.
Immutable collaborated with Digital Worlds Foundation to launch The Main Quest. Digital Worlds Foundation claims to have close to 300 games under development, and which will be powered by the Ethereum scaling layer.
According to Immutable, Immutable Passport users will be the first to qualify for the rewards, adding that gamers in some jurisdictions may not be eligible, probably due to regulations within those jurisdictions.
NFTs and Game Tokens Rewards
The program will also include bonus rewards in the form of NFTs and game tokens that will be earned when players finish “special quests.”
The program comes four months after Immutable disclosed that it’ll allow game developers on its scaling layer to cover gas fees. It also comes at a time when Immutable is partnering with conventional firms like Ubisoft and Amazon to push for the adoption of web3 games.
With a rewards program dedicated to gamers and popular blockchain games launching on Immutable zkEVM, the network is likely to record an uptick in usage.
