Gauntlet will end its long-term cooperation with Aave

Gauntlet, a company specializing in risk management in DeFi, will cease cooperation with the Aave landing platform after four years of collaboration.

Gauntlet will end its long-term cooperation with Aave

John Morrow, the firm's co-founder, cited difficulties last year with "navigating the conflicting guidelines and unwritten goals of the largest stakeholders" as the main reason for the decision.

He also gave examples of massive community criticism of Gauntlet's proposed solutions, which, in his opinion, was undeserved. In this situation, the company decided that it was better not to continue cooperation, Morrow added.

"We will stop the flow of payments as soon as possible and will work with other participants to find a replacement for the operational risk manager for the project," he said.

Ernesto Boado, former technical director of Aave and a member of the DAO, admitted that criticism from the community "can be more harsh than it should be." According to him, the organization "highly appreciates the work" of Gauntlet, which, however, throws the platform "in the midst of a fight."

Aave DAO co-founder Mark Zeller called the "we're leaving because we've been treated unfairly" excuse unconvincing. According to him, Gauntlet simply found an economically more profitable alternative, since it earned about $ 10 million during the cooperation.

Zeller called the vacant position of a risk manager service provider with an annual budget of $1.6 million a "prestigious slot."
