Elvira Nabiullina: "Russia is negotiating cross-border transfers in digital rubles"

According to Nabiullina, many countries are considering using digital currencies to facilitate and accelerate international payments and transfers. Countries friendly to Russia have already launched pilot projects to launch digital currencies of central banks. At the same time, when creating the digital ruble platform, the possibility of integration with foreign similar platforms was initially laid.

"We are currently conducting consultations and negotiations with many friendly countries and, of course, with the BRICS countries on cross-border settlements through digital currencies. And I think that in the future, of course, they will develop. As for cryptocurrencies, our position is well known, we are against them being used in payments within the country. At the same time, we support their use in foreign trade, but the bill that gives this opportunity is still being discussed in the State Duma," Elvira Nabiullina said.
