Deutsche Börse has launched a cryptocurrency trading platform

On March 5, 2024, Deutsche Börse Financial Group launched a regulated cryptocurrency trading platform.

The new product, called Deutsche Börse Digital Exchange (DBDX), is part of the company's global plan to reach the digital asset market, according to the new Horizon 2026 strategy. According to Deutsche Börse, the exchange is focused on institutional investors. Trading on the platform will begin this week, a representative of the company said.

Initially, trading on the DBDX platform will be carried out on the basis of a request for quotations (RfQ). The project will be managed by Deutsche Börse, and Crypto Finance will provide settlement and storage services.

"DBDX offers a fully regulated and secure ecosystem for trading, settlement and storage of crypto assets. The platform will allow us to occupy a niche in the market and offer customers a wide range of innovative and secure solutions," the press release says.

According to Carlo Kelzer, head of the Currency and digital Assets department at Deutsche Börse, the new product changes the rules of the game in digital ecosystems. According to him, the company intends to offer institutional clients in Europe access to the crypto asset market, which is characterized by transparency and security.
