According to Dennis Porter, CEO of Satoshi Act Fund, Louisiana lawmakers will consider a bill to protect the rights of bitcoin owners.
According to Dennis Porter, this will help find a balance between regulatory oversight and freedom for bitcoin innovation. In particular, the bill provides for the provision of state guarantees and unlimited opportunities for citizens of the state to buy, sell, exchange, mine and store bitcoins independently.
"This is a historic bill. We have witnessed a growing recognition of the importance of bitcoin for the modern digital economy. The new law guarantees citizens' freedom to buy and sell bitcoins, supports mining and emphasizes the importance of self—storage, allowing people to control their digital assets," Porter wrote.
He also noted that in February, similar laws on the rights of citizens to own bitcoins were prepared by legislators of the states of Ohio, South Carolina and Mississippi.
