Circle stops supporting USDC based on the Tron network
The issue of tokens has already been discontinued.
The American company Circle, which is behind the second most popular USDC stablecoin, unexpectedly announced that it was ending support for the Tron blockchain.
The USDC will continue to operate on the basis of Tron until February 2025, but no new stablecoins will be released on this network. Users will have the opportunity to transfer funds to other blockchains, or exchange them for fiat currency. Circle does not disclose the reason for the refusal to support a fairly popular network.
"As part of our risk management system, Circle constantly evaluates the suitability of all blockchains where the USDC is supported. This decision is consistent with our efforts to ensure that the USDC remains a reliable, transparent and secure stablecoin. The decision was also the result of a corporate―wide approach that includes business organization, compliance and other functions of the company," Circle representatives wrote on the official blog.
