BlackRock's Crypto Vault was Flooded with NFT and Cryptocurrency Memes
Meme tokens and NFT worth tens of thousands of dollars were sent to the cryptocurrency wallet of the asset management company BlackRock.
Blockchain detectives have found out the address of the crypto vault on the Ethereum (ETH) network, to which BlackRock recently transferred USD Coin (USDC) stablecoins in the amount of $100 million.
The firm performed this operation to create a digital asset fund, The Black Rock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL), which allows investors to earn passive income.
After members of the crypto community found out about the BlackRock crypto wallet, 80 different virtual currencies were transferred to it, among which there were many meme tokens, for example, Pepe (PEPE), Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Jesus Coin (JESUS). In addition, Z8 NFTs were sent to the crypto vault, including coins from such expensive collections as Chungos and KaijuKingz.
However, BlackRock's ambitions are not limited to creating a fund. The organization plans to tokenize financial assets on the Ethereum network. According to the head of the company, Larry Fink, in the foreseeable future all securities will be represented on some kind of common blockchain.
