Argentina's Central Bank Showcases Live Bitcoin Mining as Part of Art Exposition
For the first time we will find Bitcoin and Ethereum coins in a Central Bank museum. What I want to talk about is where the financial and monetary systems are going, which are heading towards decentralized systems, which have a close link with artificial intelligence
The Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA) Museum is hosting a very particular art exhibition. For the first time in the world, destroyed real money from different countries is on display, along with mining machines for different cryptocurrencies in operation in a Central Bank.
“We have developed the exhibition in conjunction with the Central Bank. It is about showing different types of currencies. I have been to more than 17 central banks in the last twelve years, where I have destroyed money. The message has to do with the disappearance of paper money and the new financial systems, which are more linked to technology,” explained the Argentine artist, Alberto Echegaray Guevara, author of the exhibition.
“For the first time we will find Bitcoin and Ethereum coins in a Central Bank museum. What I want to talk about is where the financial and monetary systems are going, which are heading towards decentralized systems, which have a close link with artificial intelligence,” he stressed, in an interview for Canal E.
“There are works that are spheres that have, for example, Swiss francs, a million euros destroyed, a million reals, 100 million rubles that I went to look for at the central bank of Russia,” continued Echegaray Guevara, who defines himself as a crypto artist.
