A fake application for payments in digital yuan has appeared in China

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, the fraudulent application of a fake wallet with the Central Bank's digital currency (CBDC) e-CNY is actively spreading throughout the country.
The fake version of the "Digital Yuan Test Version" offers the payment of "dividends" to users who recommend installing the application to their friends and acquaintances.

The authorities warn users that the official application does not send messages about quick earnings. In addition, risks may arise when scanning QR codes, visiting suspicious sites and schemes that promise high profits without losses.
The Chinese CBDC is still undergoing testing: last year, Chinese banks tested cross-border payments, and a new pilot project encourages citizens traveling between Singapore and China to use CBDC for "travel expenses."
