Unstoppable Domains is expanding onto Ethereum Layer 2 Base

Unstoppable Domains, the blockchain-based platform that allows users to create human-readable names for their crypto wallets using NFTs, is expanding to the Ethereum Layer 2 Base built by Coinbase. This expansion goes beyond Unstoppable Domains' existing infrastructure on popular L2 Polygon MATIC and the Ethereum mainnet.

In particular, this move demonstrates Unstoppable Domains' support for Optimistic rollups, a method to scale the transaction throughput of Ethereum's base layer and save users on gas costs by pushing transactions off-chain. Base was built using the OP Optimistic roll-up tech stack, while Polygon relies on zero-knowledge proofs, which also push transactions off the main Ethereum network but prove the validity of those transactions using a different form of cryptography.
