Speaking in court in the Dutch city of Hertogenbosch, prosecutors said that Alexey Pertsev systematically participated in facilitating money laundering through Tornado Cash between July 2019 and August 2022.

Recall that Alexey Pertsev was imprisoned in the Netherlands 2 years ago, after the Tornado Cash cryptocurrency mixer was included in the sanctions list of the US Treasury Department. As a result of the sanctions, Tornado Cash's property, user funds and source code were blocked in the United States and abroad, and residents and citizens of the country were banned from using the service.

In addition to cryptocurrencies, Tornado Cash and their founders' repositories on Github, RPC Infura and Alchemy Platform, and other domains were blocked. The US Treasury Department believes that the mixer was used to launder criminally obtained funds by hacker organized groups, including the well-known Lazarus Group from North Korea.

The announcement of the verdict of the court in the case of Alexei Pertsev is scheduled for May 14 this year. The co-founder of cryptomixer denies his guilt in organizing the money laundering process totaling $ 1.2 billion.
