The Optimism team will support talented blockchain developers

850 million OP or 20% of the token supply will be distributed among projects over several rounds of financing, each of which will correspond to a certain category.

For example, the fourth round of Optimism, which has been dubbed "Retroactive Financing of Public Goods," will be conducted by the blockchain developers themselves. At this stage, the members of the Optimism Collective will jointly decide which of the submitted projects turned out to be useful for the protocol and therefore worthy of grants.

During the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds of funding, those developers who "wherever they are, have worked to improve Optimism" will receive rewards.

According to Bobby Dresser, chief operating officer of the Optimism Foundation, part of the grants, namely 40 million OP worth $158 million, have already been distributed among developers.
