Suad Bencredda: German DZ Bank is going to start trading crypto assets

A member of the board of Germany's second largest banking group, DZ BANK, said that in the near future the company is preparing to launch its own service for trading digital assets.

Squad Benkredda assured that the bank's provision of services for the purchase and sale of cryptocurrency assets will be a natural result of the financial institution's interest in expanding the availability of distributed ledger technologies (DLT) to customers.

"We are keeping up with the times. A study by the reputable company Genoverband confirms that every second German bank wants to offer similar solutions to its customers. During the year, we will enter the pilot phase of the project to provide retail services in cryptocurrencies," promised a member of the Board of DZ BANK Group.

After obtaining the necessary permits from the German Federal Financial Supervision Authority (BaFin), the bank intends to offer institutional investors and private clients the opportunity to buy bitcoin and ether, Suad Bencredda said. Since November 2023, DZ Bank has launched its own digital asset storage platform, which serves legal entities by offering tokenized securities, for example, Siemens crypto bonds.
