It has been reported that the company SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, has allowed the use of the digital asset Dogecoin as a financial means for rebooking seats in the space mission DOGE-1, which is planned to depart from Earth and arrive at the Moon.

The mission was initially scheduled for 2022 with the launch of the Falcon 9 rocket, but it was postponed due to technical issues related to the DOGE-1 satellite, which is also planned to be launched into space. The satellite is currently being assembled at the British factory of the Exobotics UK company.

In the Geometric Energy Corporation (GEC), which is partnering with SpaceX on the DOGE-1 space commission, noted that SpaceX is enthusiastic about carrying out the planned mission. Analysts note that SpaceX is aiming to demonstrate that the potential of digital assets extends beyond Earth. The mission itself could further attract attention to the phenomenon of cryptocurrencies, including such meme currencies as Dogecoin.

At present, Dogecoin is trading at $0.0783, which is 89.6% lower than its historical high, which was recorded on May 8, 2021 - the year when the first talk about the space mission began. At the same time, Dogecoin is currently worth 91.55% more compared to its absolute minimum price for this digital asset.
