Rare NFT from the CryptoPunks collection sold for $16 million
An unknown user with a newly created wallet bought a non-interchangeable token (NFT) from the CryptoPunks collection for $16 million
On March 4, an unknown person purchased CryptoPunk #3100 for 4,500 Ethereum (ETH), which is estimated at $16 million. The deal was the second largest in the entire history of the collection.
CryptoPunk #3100 is one of 10,000 eight-bit digital art featuring punks featured in the NFT collection of the same name.
However, such a high cost of this particular token is due to the fact that art #3100 is an alien. There are nine such characters in the collection. Therefore, traders are ready to spend any money on them.
The most expensive deal with the alien punks was made on February 12, 2022. Then the user bought CryptoPunk #5822 for 8,000 ETH (about $24 million at that time).
At the moment, one of the most popular NFT collections is experiencing a surge in trading activity. According to NFT Floor, over the past day, the trading volume amounted to 4,912 ETH, or $18.1 million. The average transaction value is 614 ETH ($2.2 million).
