Media: The Supreme Court of Montenegro approved the extradition of Do Kwon to South Korea

The Court of Montenegro has decided to extradite the founder of Terraform Labs to South Korea. Earlier, the country's appeals court overturned the decision to transfer Do Kwon to the US authorities.

The Supreme Court of Montenegro has decided to extradite the founder of the failed Terraform Labs company Do Kwon to South Korea, local media write.

The verdict provides for a simplified process of transferring the accused to the authorities of the country for further corner prosecution, the authors of the material say.

On March 5, 2024, it became known that the decision to transfer the entrepreneur to the US authorities had been canceled. The Court of Appeal of Montenegro invalidated the verdict of a lower instance due to "serious violations of the provisions of criminal proceedings."

The case was sent for reconsideration without time limits.

Lawyer Goran Rodich, who represents Do Kwon, at the time of writing, did not comment on reports about the decision on extradition to South Korea. Earlier, he expressed the opinion that the decision of the Court of Appeal would set a precedent for other hearings concerning the entrepreneur.

Do Kwon and his business partner were arrested on March 23, 2023 at Podgorica Airport. They tried to pass through passport control using forged documents and get on a flight to Dubai.
